Residues become Resources by our Recycling
Cooperation Process
STEP1:Customer offer
Welcome to offer us any cargo related and tell us your environmental concerning anytime,we are always ready to serve.
Generally we prefer a firm offer with details of the cargo as following:
1)Full analysis of the cargo by XRF and a accurate LAB result of the main elements. We always need to know main valuable metals content and environmental hazardous elements like Arsenic,Cadmium,Mercury and impurity elements for our smelter like Fluoride,Chloride,Chrome,Magnesium,Aluminium ETC to judge whether we can manage it.
2)Pictures and videos for the ready stock and sample.we need to judge the size, shape or the type of the material, which should be fit for our processing facility.
3)Factory and process of the material origins from.By full understanding of the origin,we can easily judge whether it is within our demand according to our over 10 years experience.
4)Quantity of the material.we can manage usually more than 1 container cargo depends on the cargo value.Definitely we prefer bigger offer like 1000 metric tons above, even 10000 metric ton and long term contract is preferable for our factory persistent production.
5)Target price from our customer.we always appreciate if your target price is available.A firm offer makes our communication more efficient and effective.
STEP 2:Quotation period confirmation
In order to maximize the value of your cargo,Accurate test of your representative sample usually is necessary.that will take some time.some cargo shipment leading time even more than 3month.and there is market fluctuation always.we usually use some days average following ETA date or M plus several month as final metal settlement price.Details will be confirmed before contracting.
STEP 3:Contract
After confirmation of the quality and quantity of customer's offer.Possibly we need a representative sample from the stock.A representative sample usually means a average sample of the stock from different parts.and more sampling points should be applied in order to get a more accurate result of the whole stock.
After confirmation of the sample testing result, quotation period,WSA,payment terms, then we can contract.and all operate procedures we just follow contract terms.
We always offer our best price to maximize value of your cargo, and we enjoy good reputation and zero claim in all our past records.
STEP 4:Inspection and loading
After contracting,We will appoint a third inspection party like AHK/ALEX/SGS to inspect the whole cargo.Third party will sample the whole cargo during loading containers, and offer loading report, weighting report, and analysis report, these results would be used for provisional invoice.
In order to establish a win win and long term cooperation,we can make some payment against Bill of Lading and third party inspection result, the payment percentage will be different depends on the supplier and it's past record.
STEP 5:Final settlement Weighting,Sampling and Moisture Determination (WSMD)
Final settlement Weighting,Sampling and Moisture Determination (WSMD) would be base on the cargo arrived at port or our factory,if there is any dispute of the final result,we can appoint any well know third inspection party like AHK/ALEX/SGS as umpire, and this result would be final and effective to both.
Processing Facilities
Pyrometallurgy Blast Furnace Smelter
A blast furnace can be used as a faster alternative to smelt Ore ans all residues. It can smelt ore at twice the speed of a furnace. It is widely used to smelt ore, residues, and by product s.which contents lead, copper, nickel, and PGM.With high efficient and diverse materials acceptance,it becomes the main recycling method of such materials in the world.
Hydrometallurgy is a method for obtaining metals from their ores or mixed metal residues or other complex material. It is a technique within the field of extractive metallurgy involving the use of aqueous chemistry for the recovery of metals from ores, concentrates, and recycled complex scrap or residual materials.
Rotary Kiln Waelz Processing
The Waelz processing is designed to separate zinc and lead from other materials by reducing, volatilising and oxidising these elements. The materials placed in the kiln consist of EAF(Electronic Arc Furnace) dust(A hazardous waste called “steel dust” from baghouse). We recycle these hazardous waste and other secondary Zinc containing materials like Zinc ash from galvanize industry for crude Zinc oxide production.
Electrical Arc Furnace(EAF)
An electric arc furnace is an electric furnace that smelts ore and metal at a high temperature generated by an electric arc. For smelting metals, electric arc furnaces have greater flexibility than other steelmaking furnaces and can remove impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus. The furnace temperature is easy to control, and the equipment has a small footprint, which is suitable for the melting of high-quality alloy steel.
Intermediate Frequency Furnace
Fast heating, high productivity, less oxidative decarburization, material and cost savings, and extended die life,Excellent working environment, improve workers’ working environment and company image, no pollution, low energy consumption
Uniform heating, these advantages make it the most widely use furnace.Normally we use it to smelt copper scraps, brass scraps, bronze scraps into ingot.
Fluidized Bed Roaster Sintering
Fluidized-bed roasters (Sintering) have found wide acceptance because of their high capacity and efficiency. They can be used for oxidizing, sulfatizing, and volatilizing roasts.Mostly used to produce Zinc calcined,it can remove most of the impurity like F,Cl,As,Cd ETC.
Definition and calculation of Treatment Charge and Refining Charge (TC/RC) for Copper Cu concentrate
Treatment Charge (TC) and Refining Charge (RC) are commonly used in the terms of purchase for copper concentrate for refining. They are amounts designed to cover refining costs. For example, copper concentrate contracts may define a purchase price based on the LME price at a certain date, minus the TC and RC being used at the time.
The price of the raw materials shall be the sum of the values of the payable metals less the sum of the deductions
Payable metals in copper Cu concentrate:
Copper:Buyer shall pay for 96.65% of the final copper content, subject to aminimum deduction of 1.0 unit at the official LME Grade A Settlement Copper Quotation averaged over the quotational period
Gold:Buyer shall pay for 97.50% of the final gold content, subject to aminimum deduction of 1.0 g per DMT, at the London MorningQuotation averaged over the quotational period
Silver:Buyer shall pay for 90.0% of the final silver content, subject to aminimum deduction of 30.0 g per DMT, at the London Silver Spot/USCents Quotation averaged over the quotational period.
Deductions-Treatment Charge(TC) is base on USD per DMT.
Deductions-Refining Charge (RC) is for payable copper shall be USc per pound of payable copper.
Deductions – Refining Charge(RC) for payable gold shall be USD per ounce of payable gold.
Deductions – Refining Charge(RC) for payable silver shall be USc per ounce of payable silver.
Deductions – Penalties.Penalty clauses are typically applied for the impurities harmful tocopper smelting and refining processes. For example,a zinc penalty means that for each 1.0 units by which thefinal zinc assay exceeds 3.00%, the seller shall pay a penalty chargeof 3.00 USD per DMT of concentrates.
Benchmark TC/RC are negotiated annually between minersand smelters. Typically negotiations start in October and normallyfinished by year-end. Benchmark TC/RC terms are normally established when the major mines and smelters have agreed the annual terms
Tatol value of the cargo=Total Value( Cu+Ag+Au)-Total TC/RC charges(TC+RC(Cu Au Ag))-Total impurities penalties
Definition and calculation of Treatment Charge (TC) for Zinc Zn concentrate
The price of the Zinc concentrate shall be the sum of the values of the payable metals less the sum of Treatment Charge(TC) and all the impurity deductions.
Payable metals in Zinc Zn concentrate:
Zinc:Buyer shall pay for 85% of the final agreed zinc content, subject to a minimum deduction of 8%-units at the official LME Zinc (SHG) settlement quotation averaged over the quotation period.
Example) A concentrate with a zinc content of 60% the deduction is 9% (60% x 85% = 51 % i.e. 60% – 51% = 9% > 8%).Payable metal value: 60% x 85% x 2,000 USD/t = 1,020 USD/MT
Example) B concentrate with a zinc content of 50% the deduction is 8% (50% x 85% = 42.5 % i.e. 50% – 42.5% = 7.5% < 8%). Payable metal value: 50% – 8c%-units = 42% x 2,000 USD/t = 840 USD/DMT
Silver:Buyer shall pay for 70% of the final silver content after a deduction of 100 g per DMT, at the London Silver Spot/USCents Quotation averaged over the quotational period.
Deductions-Treatment Charge(TC) Benchmark terms are normally established when the major mines and smelters have agreed the annual terms,It is base on USD per DMT.
Deductions-Refining Charge(RC) for payable silver shall be USc per ounce of payable silver.
Deductions-Impurity penalties–
For example, a iron penalty means that for each 1.0%-units by which the final iron assay exceeds 8.00%, seller shall pay a penalty charge of 2.00 USD per DMT of concentrates.
Example: A final iron assay of 10.00%, i.e. 2%-units over 8.00%: 2 x 2.00 USD/DMT = 4.00 USD/DMT Penalty clauses are typically applied for the impurities harmful to zinc smelting process.
Tatol value of the cargo=Total Value( Zn+Ag)-Total TC/RC charges(TC+RC(Ag))-Total Impurities Deductions.
Definition and calculation of Treatment Charge and Refining Charge (TC/RC) for Lead Pb concentrate
Lead Smelters typically pay for 95% of the lead contained in the lead concentrate (typically 60% Pb) valued at LME price averaged over QP.In addition Lead Smelter will pay forAg,Au, Cu, but Zn content in concentrate if it exceeds certain thresholds Deductions• Treatment Charges• Penalties and/or Allowances
Payable metals in Lead Pb concentrate:
Lead:Buyer shall pay for 95% of the final lead content, subject to aminimum deduction of 3.0 unit at the official LME Grade A Settlement Copper Quotation averaged over the quotational period
Gold:Buyer shall pay for 95% of the final gold content, subject to aminimum deduction of 1.0 g per DMT, at the London MorningQuotation averaged over the quotational period
Silver:Buyer shall pay for 95.0% of the final silver content, subject to aminimum deduction of 50.0 g per DMT, at the London Silver Spot/USCents Quotation averaged over the quotational period.
Deductions-Treatment Charge(TC) is base on USD per DMT.
Deductions – Refining Charge(RC) for payable gold shall be USD per ounce of payable gold.
Deductions – Refining Charge(RC) for payable silver shall be USc per ounce of payable silver.
Deductions-Impurities exceed penalty
Tatol value of the cargo=Total Value( Pb+Ag+Au)-Total TC/RC charges(TC+RC(Au Ag))-Total Deductions.
Calculation of Treatment Charge and Refining Charge (TC/RC) for Lead Pb Zinc Zn conbined concentrate
Usually lead and zinc bearing concentrates are sold as a separate product but there is a market of a mixed lead/zinc concentrate, commonly referred to as “Bulk Concentrate”. A typical lead-zinc concentrate will be used as an example of how treatment charges and penalties are calculated. First there is a deduction from the contained metal assay to compensate the smelter for processing metal losses. If the concentrate grades around 50% lead and 20% zinc, then around 3% of the lead and 8% of the zinc will be deducted. This is effectively part of the treatment fee and is usually higher for lower grades.
With regard to accompanying precious metals, silver above an agreed minimum content will be paid but generally gold is not paid for. This is because the smelter can recover silver easily but may not be able to recover the gold at all. If the gold content is significantly high, silver/gold containing residue may be sold to a third party processing plant that specialises in treatment of such residue materials.
Next is a treatment charge per tonne of concentrate which is negotiated on an annual basis and the charge is set at a specified metal price . For example: US$ 130 basis $2000 LME Cash Zinc Price. There is usually has an accompanying escalator/de-escalator to adjust the treatment charge to take account of rises or falls in the metal price.
Finally there are the penalties. Penalties apply to those elements that are toxic and expensive to dispose of, such as mercury. Penalties also apply to those elements that are contaminants to the principal metal and are difficult and/or expensive to remove.
For a lead-zinc concentrate typical penalties include bismuth, mercury, antimony, cadmium, nickel, cobalt and copper. There are many other penalty elements and if some elements are high enough, the concentrate may not even be saleable.
